Penti Thermal Hosiery keeps legs comfortably warm when the days turn shorter and colder. A soft, fleece-like interior lines these 150 denier opaque tights, finished with a slight sheen on the outside for a polished look — the winter tights that look like ordinary opaques and feel like a layer of fleece.
How the fleece lining works
A plain opaque only gets warmer by getting thicker. Thermal hosiery is knitted so the inside is brushed into a fine fleece, which holds a layer of still air against the skin — the same principle as a fleece jacket. That is why a 150 denier thermal outperforms a 200 denier plain opaque for warmth while staying slimmer under boots and skirts. This version adds a cotton gusset for breathability and a reinforced panty and toe, so it is built for daily wear from November to March.

Thermal Hosiery vs Thermal Tights
Penti makes two thermals in the same 150 denier fleece-lined knit. This Thermal Hosiery has a cotton gusset and a reinforced toe; the Penti Thermal Tights are cut legging-style with a reinforced crotch. Warmth is the same — choose by which finish you prefer. FAQs
How warm are 150 denier thermal tights?
Warm enough for a British winter with boots and a coat. The fleece lining insulates rather than just covers, so they feel noticeably warmer than a plain opaque of the same weight.
Are thermal tights see-through?
No. At 150 denier with a brushed lining the leg is fully covered in solid black, with a slight sheen on the outside.
Which size should I choose?
Penti sizes 1 to 4 follow height and weight: match yours on our size guide. Go up if you are between two — a thermal stretched too thin loses its warmth.
